  <title>Additional Photographs Released of the Salt Lake Temple Interior</title>
  <description><![CDATA[Tuesday, June 30, 2026<p>Inside the Salt Lake Temple, several endowment rooms near completion, and carpet has been installed in the celestial room and surrounding study areas. Beautiful chandeliers have also been hung in the east baptistry, while the historic oak doors have been reinstalled on the east side. The temple now rests on its base isolation system, after crews removed more than 1,500 bolts connecting the 392 plates to the 98 base isolators, located 20 feet beneath the temple. "This is a milestone moment for this whole project," said Brad Bohne, general superintendent with Jacobsen Construction. The temple is "free to move now during an earthquake, so a big deal for us," he added.</p><img src="/assets/img/temples/salt-lake-temple/salt-lake-temple-72498-main.jpg" />]]></description>

  <title>Holiness to the Lord Panel Added to the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple</title>
  <description><![CDATA[Tuesday, June 30, 2026<p>A precast concrete panel inscribed with the sacred words "Holiness to the Lord – The House of the Lord" (Exodus 28:36) has been installed over the front portico of the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple. The inscription was first carved into the Salt Lake Temple by John Rowe Moyle, a talented stonecutter and convert to the Church. The words can now be found on every operating temple of the Church.   <description><![CDATA[Saturday, June 27, 2026<p>Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the new Nauvoo Temple Visitors’ Center today on the 182nd anniversary of the martyrdom of the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum Smith, who were killed in Carthage, Illinois, on June 27, 1844. "Nauvoo is central to our history — to our past, to our present, to our future," said Elder Gong. The visitors’ center, located at 155 Wells Street, has a view of the Nauvoo Illinois Temple and features a Tiffany stained-glass window of Jesus Christ. It will operate Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. starting Monday.   <title>Temporary Welcome Center Opens at the Fairview Texas Temple Site</title>
  <description><![CDATA[Sunday, June 21, 2026<p>During the construction of the Fairview Texas Temple, visitors are invited to learn about the project and the purpose of temples at a temporary on-site Welcome Center. Construction of the temple commenced earlier this year following a groundbreaking ceremony held in February. The Fairview Town Council approved plans for a revised version of the temple following discussions with Church representatives that resulted in a reduction of the proposed steeple height from 174 feet to 120 feet.   <description><![CDATA[Friday, June 19, 2026<p>Granite cladding installation is now underway on the exterior walls of the Vancouver Washington Temple, located in the community of Camas. On the west side of the property, concrete stairs have been poured to connect the lower parking lot with the circular viewing plaza.   <description><![CDATA[Friday, June 19, 2026<p>Light-colored stone cladding is now substantially complete on three sides of the Austin Texas Temple, giving the building much of its finished exterior appearance. At the center of the structure, preparations are underway for the installation of the tower's exterior finishes.
