Exterior Doors Returned to the West End of the Salt Lake Temple

Saturday, June 13, 2026
On the west end of the Salt Lake Temple, the beautifully restored exterior doors have been returned to their original locations. The doors feature rich symbolism, including the beehive, a cherished emblem in Utah representing industry, harmony, order, and cooperation. Nineteenth-century Latter-day Saints described it as a symbol of the "sweet results of their toil, union and intelligent cooperation." Just north of Temple Square, demolition of the former Plaza Hotel continues. During the temple’s six-month open house, the site will serve as parking.
