More Temples to Reopen Under Phase 1
Seventeen temples reopened today, and seventeen more will reopen next Monday across Asia, Europe, and the United States under phase 1 of the reopening plan for temples as announced by the First Presidency. Phase 1 allows for living husband-and-wife sealings to be performed with a limited number of participants under the restrictions defined by local government. Appointments are required.
Public to Tour Atlanta Temple
The public open house for the Atlanta Georgia Temple begins this Saturday, April 9, and continues through Saturday, April 23, excluding Sundays. Tours are available Mondays, 8am–5pm; and Tuesdays–Saturdays, 8am–8pm. Tickets are free but required. Please visit lds.org/reservations.

Exterior Floodlighting Illuminates the Atlanta Georgia Temple
The Atlanta Georgia Temple is once again a "light on a hill" with the return of exterior floodlighting, which illuminates the temple each night. The general public is invited to tour the temple at an open house this April. The temple will then be formally rededicated on May 1.
Atlanta Temple Rededication
The First Presidency has announced the open house and rededication dates for the Atlanta Georgia Temple. The temple opens to the public from Saturday, April 9, through Saturday, April 23, 2011 (excluding Sundays). The temple will be rededicated in two sessions on Sunday, May 1.
A White Christmas in Atlanta, Georgia
Christmas day created an ususual sight at the Atlanta temple in the form of a blanket of snow. The rededication dates for the temple are expected to be announced shortly.
New Green Grass Surrounds the Atlanta Georgia Temple
Work moves forward at the Atlanta Georgia Temple where beautiful grass has been laid. At the rear of the temple, progress is being made on the new parking lot. The interior of the temple has been completely rebuilt and the exterior refurbished. It will open to the public for tours early next year.
Landscaping Advances at the Atlanta Georgia Temple
At the Atlanta Georgia Temple, crews have painted the beautiful new planters in front of the temple a brilliant white, matching the pristine exterior of the temple. Numerous plants have been added, and at the rear of the temple, work progresses on new gardens and a new parking lot.
More Progress at the Atlanta Georgia Temple
New trees and shrubs have been planted at the Atlanta Georgia Temple grounds, and stained glass has been installed over the main entrance of the building. The completely renovated temple is expected to reopen early next year. Prior to the rededication, the temple will open to the public.

As part of the Atlanta Georgia Temple renovation, a collection of symmetrical flowerbeds have been poured as a new focal point to the grounds. The structures will also help retain the ground of the steep hillside upon which the temple stands.
Moroni Resumes His Position Atop the Atlanta Georgia Temple
The Atlanta Georgia Temple has been closed since July 1, 2009, for a complete remodel of the interior and relandscaping of the grounds. Progress on restoring the building was evident recently when the angel Moroni statue was replaced atop the spire. Construction is expected to continue for most of the year.
Atlanta Georgia Temple—Halfway Into Renovation
The Atlanta Georgia Temple is currently a shell of its former self as renovation nears the halfway point. The interior has been gutted, the angel Moroni and stained glass removed, and landscaping torn out. The temple closed on July 1, 2009, and is expected to reopen in the latter half of 2010.
Temple in Atlanta, Georgia Closes for 18-Month Remodel
The Atlanta Georgia Temple is now closed for an 18-month remodel of the interior. Georgia's only temple was originally dedicated 26 years ago on June 1, 1983. Members of the temple district will attend temples located in neighboring states.
Atlanta Temple to be Renovated
The Atlanta Georgia Temple will close later this year for a complete remodel of the interior. Although a closure date has not been determined, the temple will remain open at least through June 2009. In recent years, the temple landscaping was completely redone.
