Underground Service Spaces Taking Shape at the Stockholm Sweden Temple
Reconstruction of the Stockholm Sweden Temple is advancing. At the rear of the building, crews are constructing concrete structural walls for service spaces that will be almost entirely underground, leaving only their entrances visible. Scaffolding surrounds the temple exterior as finishing work progresses. On the grounds, trees that were removed to accommodate construction will be replaced with newly planted trees. The temple has been closed since March 2023.
Entrance Portico Added to the San Juan Puerto Rico Temple
The San Juan Puerto Rico Temple is reopening this week following a five-month closure for minor renovations. A new entrance portico was added to the front of the building to help protect the temple from rainwater during storms. Crews also upgraded the air-conditioning system and completed other improvements to the temple’s interior. The renovations will help preserve the temple and improve its functionality for patrons.
Steeple Frame Added to the Budapest Hungary Temple
The steel framework for the steeple of the Budapest Hungary Temple has been installed, with scaffolding now surrounding the structure in preparation for the installation of exterior sheathing. The concrete structural walls of the main building are in place, including the front portico. A tower crane continues to support the construction activities, while earthwork and grading continue around the temple grounds.
New Guest Experiences in the Works for Temple Square
Visitors to Temple Square will soon be able to participate in new guest experiences. In the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, guests can learn about Latter-day Saint Sunday worship, be immersed in a surround-screen theater presentation of the life of Christ, contemplate beautiful artwork, and give children interactive experiences that explore Christ's teachings. In addition to new art galleries, the Conference Center will feature displays that highlight the role of prophets, scriptures, and personal revelation. Inside the Salt Lake Tabernacle, productions will be projected on the domed ceiling, depicting the ministry of Jesus Christ. Showtimes will soon be available on the Temple Square website and app.
Elder Bednar Presides at the Cleveland Ohio Temple Dedication
Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Cleveland Ohio Temple on Sunday, August 16, 2026. "A temple is a point of intersection between heaven and earth," said Elder Bednar. "I cannot imagine a more important blessing than having greater access to the power of godliness through the ordinances of the temple." The Cleveland Ohio Temple is located about 20 miles southwest of the historic Kirtland Temple, which was dedicated in 1836 but now operates as one of the Church’s historic sites.
President Oaks Dedicates the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple
In his first trip outside the United States as president of the Church, President Dallin H. Oaks dedicated the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple on Sunday, August 16, 2026. In an interview held the day before the dedication, President Oaks explained why he chose to dedicate this particular temple saying, "I was anxious to come to Brazil…because I esteem the nation so highly." In his remarks at the dedication, he said, "The temple lies at the center of strengthening our faith and spiritual fortitude because the Savior and His doctrine are the very heart of the temple."
GroundBreaking Event Held for the Huntsville Alabama Temple
Elder John D. Amos, a General Authority Seventy serving in the United States Southeast Area presidency, presided at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Huntsville Alabama Temple on Saturday, August 15, 2026. In his site dedicatory prayer, he prayed: "Bless this land and the holy temple that will one day stand here, that it may be a house of peace, refuge, revelation and love for all who worship within its holy walls." The temple will rise on a 21-acre site at the corner of Gillespie and Browns Ferry Roads in Madison, just east of County Line Road.
Precast Panels Going Up on the Tampa Florida Temple
The installation of cream-colored precast concrete panels has begun on the steel frame of the Tampa Florida Temple. Large cranes are being used to lift and position the panels along the lower portions of the structure, forming the temple's first exterior walls. Steel framing continues to rise above the completed portions of the building, including the framework for the central tower.
Hardscape Installation Progress at the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple
The hardscape is taking shape on the east side of the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple site, where crews are installing curved concrete walls and other landscape features, including stairs and a viewing platform. Trees are being planted, while mulch is being spread in the flowerbeds along the ornamental fence. The site improvements complement the temple’s exterior, which continues to be clad with granite panels.
Austin Texas Temple Exterior and Parking Lot Take Shape
Installation of stone cladding on the exterior of the Austin Texas Temple has reached the front of the building including the entrance portico. Waterproofing work is underway on the sheathing surrounding the tower, with scaffolding providing access for crews who continue to work on the structure. West of the temple, wood forms and reinforcing steel bars have been installed in preparation for pouring the concrete parking lot.
Structural Steel Framing of the Jacksonville Florida Temple Begins
Vertical construction of the Jacksonville Florida Temple has begun, with crews erecting the structural steel frame above the completed foundation. A large crane is assisting crews with lifting and positioning the heavy steel members as the temple begins to rise. Site work also continues around the temple, including the installation of permanent fencing, curbs, sidewalks, utilities, and other infrastructure.
Church Providing Assistance and Support Following Earthquake in Colombia
Following the devastating earthquake in Colombia, crews from the Cali Colombia Temple assisted at sites where buildings had collapsed in the city. "The Church is working in coordination with government agencies and other organizations to provide all the assistance and support needed for those affected [by the recent earthquake]," said the South America Northwest Area Presidency in a statement. The temple and its ancillary building were thoroughly inspected following the earthquake, and both structures were found to have sustained no damage.
Twin Falls Idaho Temple Closed for Two Months
The Twin Falls Idaho Temple is currently closed for extended maintenance to accommodate minor renovations. As part of the project, several stained-glass windows have been removed, and the openings have been boarded over during the refurbishment. The maintenance is expected to be completed over the next two months, with the temple scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, October 6.
Phnom Penh Cambodia Temple Opens for Public Tours
On the first day of open house for Phnom Penh Cambodia Temple, journalists were invited to a news conference and walking tour of the interior. Invited guests will be given tours on August 13 and 14, and the public is invited to see the interior from Saturday, August 15, through Saturday, August 22 (excluding Sunday, August 16). The temple's exterior reflects elements found in traditional Cambodian religious structures, while the interior design motifs are inspired by kbach patterns commonly seen in local silverwork, furniture, murals and pottery. The colors reflect traditional Cambodian textiles, local flora and cultural symbolism.
President Oaks Will Dedicate the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple
President Dallin H. Oaks will dedicate the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple this Sunday, August 16, 2026. The dedicatory session will begin at 10 a.m. local time and will be rebroadcast at 2 p.m. to congregations in the temple district. This is the second temple President Oaks has dedicated this year. In January, he dedicated the Burley Idaho Temple. The Belo Horizonte temple will become the twelfth dedicated temple in Brazil.
Deep Foundation Slab Poured for the Heber Valley Utah Temple
A 3-foot-deep foundation slab has been poured for the Heber Valley Utah Temple, providing the substantial mass needed to counteract buoyant forces from the site’s high water table and to help minimize the risk of settling or cracking. Crews recently poured and leveled the west half of the slab where the fresh concrete is still visible. With the foundation nearing completion, the project is poised to transition into the structural phase.
Landscaping Underway on the Querétaro Mexico Temple Grounds
Landscaping on the grounds of the Querétaro Mexico Temple is taking shape as crews prepare planting areas and establish rows of palm trees. The newly planted trees are supported by temporary bracing, while irrigation lines are installed to support the developing landscape. Curbs, walkways, and other hardscape features are also being installed, including the monument sign that stands in front of the main entrance.
Groundbreaking Date Announced for the Barcelona Spain Temple
Elder James W. McConkie III of the Europe Central Area Presidency will preside at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Barcelona Spain Temple on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The country's second temple will rise on a 5.4-acre site at the intersection of Avinguda de la Vía Augusta and Avinguda de la Clota in the suburb of Sant Cugat del Vallès. Plans call for a two-story temple and an ancillary building with patron housing, an arrival center, and a distribution center.
Fort Worth Texas Temple Open House and Dedication Dates
The public open house for the Fort Worth Texas Temple has been announced for Thursday, November 5, through Saturday, November 21, 2026 (excluding Sundays). The event will begin with a media day held on Monday, November 2, followed by two days of tours for invited guests. The beautiful facility will provide temple patrons with restrooms, waiting areas, a dining hall, and a FamilySearch Center, creating convenient support spaces adjacent to the temple. The parking lot along Avenida Lúmen and the perimeter fencing are also nearing completion. Landscaping has begun across the grounds, while crews are applying the final exterior cladding to the temple.

The temple will be built on a 9.11-acre site at the intersection of Almeda Highway and Almeda Avenue in the Concepcion Grande barangay of Naga.

The presiding authority at the Cody Wyoming Temple dedication has been announced. Elder Clark G. Gilbert of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will dedicate the temple on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
