At the north end of the Anchorage Alaska Temple site, installation of stone veneer is underway on the retaining structures, adding a finished architectural texture that complements the temple’s exterior materials. Along the permanent fencing that borders the street side of the property, landscaping crews are establishing green space to soften the transition from roadway to temple grounds and enhance the overall setting of the site.
Preparing to Clad the Steeple of the Kona Hawaii Temple
With stone cladding now covering most of the main body of the Kona Hawaii Temple, scaffolding has been erected around the steeple where gypsum sheathing panels have been installed in preparation for the application of stone. In front of the temple, crews are forming the hardscape elements, including a retaining wall and the side walls for twin staircases that will flank a terraced water feature leading to the main entrance.
Hamburg Germany Temple Site Location Announced
The location for the Hamburg Germany Temple was announced today as the 1.4-acre site where the meetinghouse for the Hamburg Ward is located at Wartenau 20, Hamburg, Germany. It will be the third house of the Lord built in the country. The Freiberg Germany Temple was dedicated in 1985, and the Frankfurt Germany Temple was dedicated in 1987. Plans for the temple in Hamburg were announced in 2023.
Major Renovation Announced for the Apia Samoa Temple
Beginning December 23, 2026, the Apia Samoa Temple will be closed for extensive renovation. During the closure, members from the temple district are encouraged to attend other temples as their circumstances permit. Those desiring to receive their own ordinances should contact a temple in the surrounding area to make the necessary arrangements. The temple was dedicated in 1983 and rededicated in 2005 after a fire destroyed the original building.
Open House and Dedication Announced for the Modesto California Temple
The public open house for the Modesto California Temple will be held from October 16 through October 31, 2026 (excluding Sundays). The event will begin with a media day on Tuesday, October 13, followed by two days of tours for invited guests. Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside at the dedication on Sunday, November 22, 2026. The dedicatory session will be broadcast to congregations in the temple district.
Open House Begins for Renovated San Diego California Temple
The open house for the San Diego California Temple began today with a media day for journalists and invited guests. Doors will open to the public from June 18 through July 11, 2026 (excluding Sundays). Tours are free, but reservations are strongly encouraged. The four-story, ten-spire temple sits just off Interstate 5 near the community of La Jolla. Distinctive interior features include a celestial room that spans two levels and an atrium at the temple's center.
Open House Begins for the Cleveland Ohio Temple
An open house is underway for the newly completed Cleveland Ohio Temple. The media participated in a tour of the temple today, and private tours will be held the next two days. The public is invited to tour the building from June 18 through July 3, 2026, excluding Sundays. No tickets are needed. The temple’s design was inspired by Cleveland’s rich architectural heritage, incorporating elements found in the city’s historic buildings. The white trillium, Ohio’s state wildflower, is a central design element. A color palette of blue, green, red, coral, and gold reflects the Lake Erie hillside at sunrise and the vibrant buildings along East 4th Street. Take a virtual tour of the interior.
Exterior Doors Returned to the West End of the Salt Lake Temple
On the west end of the Salt Lake Temple, the beautifully restored exterior doors have been returned to their original locations. The doors feature rich symbolism, including the beehive, a cherished emblem in Utah representing industry, harmony, order, and cooperation. Nineteenth-century Latter-day Saints described it as a symbol of the "sweet results of their toil, union and intelligent cooperation." Just west of Temple Square, demolition of the former Plaza Hotel continues. During the temple’s six-month open house, the site will serve as parking.
Final Piece Added to the Steeple of the Torreón Mexico Temple
At the Torreón Mexico Temple site, a golden ball-and-spire finial has been installed atop the cupola, completing the temple's steeple. Privacy screening remains in place around the ornamental fencing, indicating that the grounds are not yet open to the public. Across the street, an existing meetinghouse has been expanded to serve as an arrival center, while a separate ancillary building has also been completed. Although the temple president and matron have been called, dates for the public open house and dedication have not yet been announced.
Greening Up the Grounds of the Cody Wyoming Temple
Landscapers are transforming the grounds of the Cody Wyoming Temple as they lay large sections of green sod around the building. Newly planted trees are taking root across the site, while planting beds and landscaped areas become more defined. Nearby, staging pads have been prepared for the tower and spire sections that will be assembled to form the temple's steeple. The tower has been fully sheathed and wrapped, while a protective cap has been installed atop the spire framework.

Foundation work is progressing at the Fairbanks Alaska Temple site as crews assemble formwork for the concrete foundation. Foundation forms are outlining the footprint of the building, while construction materials and equipment are staged across the site. Public Invited to Tour the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple
The public is invited to attend an open house of the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple from June 13 through June 27, 2026 (excluding Sundays). The architecture and interior design of the temple reflect cultural elements associated with Minas Gerais, one of the largest states in Brazil. The stained-glass windows feature shades of white, yellow and blue, inspired by the traditional patterns of Portuguese tiles present in the state's historical heritage. The temple is located at Rua Professor José Vieira de Mendonça, 1485, in the Engenho Nogueira neighborhood of Belo Horizonte.
Groundbreaking Date Announced for the Huntsville Alabama Temple
Elder John D. Amos of the United States Southeast Area Presidency will preside at the groundbreaking for the Huntsville Alabama Temple on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The temple will rise on a 21-acre site located southeast of the intersection of Gillespie Road and Browns Ferry Road in Madison, Alabama. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 30,000 square feet. It will be the second temple in the state.
Modesto California Temple President and Matron Called
David Lewis White and Cynthia Lee Hansen White of the Modesto California Stake have been called as president and matron of the new Modesto California Temple. Brother White is a mission presidency counselor, ward missionary and temple ordinance worker, and former stake president, bishop and high councilor. Sister White is a ward music coordinator and temple ordinance worker and former stake Young Women president, ward Relief Society president and seminary teacher.
Leaders Called to Oversee the Knoxville Tennessee Temple
Richard G. Youngblood and Katherine Youngblood of the Chattanooga Tennessee Stake have been called as president and matron of the new Knoxville Tennessee Temple. Brother Youngblood is an Area Seventy and former Nevada Las Vegas East Mission president, stake president, bishop and high councilor. Sister Youngblood is a branch Relief Society presidency counselor and former mission president companion, ward Primary president and ward Young Women presidency counselor.
President Christofferson Presides at Yorba Linda California Temple Dedication
President D. Todd Christofferson of the First Presidency dedicated the Yorba Linda California Temple on Sunday, June 7, 2026. "This temple and all latter-day temples constitute our visible, tangible testimony of the living reality of the Redeemer since without His Atonement and Resurrection, the temple would serve no purpose," said President Christofferson. "I give you my sure witness that Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God and Savior of the world, the resurrected Lord, that He lives, and that this is His Church, His house, and His work."

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, dedicated the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Missoula Montana Temple Groundbreaking Ceremony Held Today

The temple will be the third in the state of Missouri.

On the southeast side of the temple, a dedicated entrance for baptistry patrons has been incorporated into the design. Scaffolding remains around the main body of the temple as crews advance work on the façade.

At the Port Vila Vanuatu Temple, temporary lighting illuminates the steeple at night, highlighting its graceful design against the dark sky. Light from within the building indicates that interior construction and finish work are progressing. East of the temple, a two-story ancillary building will provide arrival facilities and accommodations for patrons traveling from distant islands and communities. Work is also progressing on the adjacent meetinghouse, which will serve local congregations for Sunday worship services and weekday activities.

At the Santa Cruz Bolivia Temple site, crews have installed the permanent ornamental fencing around the property, which is currently screened with black fabric as landscaping activities continue. Exterior wall cladding has been completed, giving the building a finished appearance. Construction has now been underway for nearly two years.

Groundbreaking Date Scheduled for the Naga Philippines Temple
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Naga Philippines Temple has been scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026. Elder Steven D. Shumway of the Philippines Area Presidency will preside at the event. The temple will be constructed on a 9.11-acre site located at the intersection of Almeda Highway and Almeda Avenue in the Concepcion Grande barangay of Naga. Site preparations have been underway for the last several months.
Elder Andersen Dedicates the Bacolod Philippines Temple
Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Bacolod Philippines Temple on Sunday, May 31, 2026. "We honor the wonderful Saints of Bacolod and the communities within the temple district who embraced the restored gospel when the Church was only beginning in this region of the Philippines," said Elder Andersen. The dedication was translated into Hiligaynon and broadcast throughout the temple district, comprising the islands of Negros and Panay islands.

At the Londrina Brazil Temple site, decorative gates have been installed, and work is underway on the monument sign that will identify the sacred structure. The grounds have been extensively landscaped with lawns, trees, and planting areas now largely in place. Paver installation has also been completed throughout much of the site, establishing the walkways and gathering spaces. Meanwhile, scaffolding remains around the steeple as work continues on the temple’s crowning architectural feature.
