Cladding the Bacolod Philippines Temple Tower
Stone cladding of the Bacolod Philippines Temple is growing closer to completion, as cladding panels progress up the steeple. Along the top of the parapet walls, several urns have been installed as decorative architectural elements. The temple stands on Bacolod Airport Access Road, a highly traveled roadway that leads from Bacolod to the Bacolod-Silay International Airport.

Cladding of the Bacolod Philippines Temple Closer to Completion
Exterior cladding of the Bacolod Philippines Temple has made excellent progress over the past six months. Work has wrapped up on the north, east, and south sides, leaving the west end and steeple to be completed. There are currently three dedicated temples in the Philippines, four under construction, and six in the planning stages. The temple in Bacolod has been under construction for 34 months.

Beautiful Farm Land Surrounding the Bacolod Philippines Temple
With the main body of the Bacolod Philippines Temple clad in stone, work is now moving up the central steeple. The temple is located on the northeastern edge of the city where farm land is abundant. Sugarcane plantations are a typical sight along highways, as thousands of acres are dedicated to its production. Other common crops include rice, coconuts, bananas, and a variety of vegetables.

Fence Posts Installed on the Bacolod Philippines Temple Grounds
Work has begun on the hardscape for the Bacolod Philippines Temple grounds. Numerous fence posts have been set along the street side of the property, and a single-drum roller is leveling the ground on the south side for parking. The majority of the main floor walls have been clad, and work is getting underway on the steeple. Construction is progressing simultaneously on an 18,000-square-foot ancillary building.

Exterior Cladding Progress at the Bacolod Philippines Temple
Scaffolding has been removed from portions of the Bacolod Philippines Temple, exposing the beautiful stone cladding that has been secured to the exterior walls. A guardhouse stands near the street entrance to the property, and storm drains have been installed on site, but work has not yet begun on landscaping. The roof of the adjoining ancillary building is finished, and work continues on the building's exterior.

The Filipino city of Bacolod began as a humble fishing village on the northwest shores of the island of Negros. Today, it is a thriving urban center and home to the rising Bacolod Philippines Temple. Roofing of the ancillary building has begun, and cladding of the temple exterior continues. The streets of Bacolod feature well-preserved heritage homes that reflect the city's colonial past.

Temples Dotting the Land in the Philippines
While Filipino Saints prepare for tomorrow's dedication of the country's third temple, the Urdaneta Philippines Temple, construction is advancing on three more temples: the Alabang Philippines Temple, the Davao Philippines Temple, and the Bacolod Philippines Temple (pictured). Seven additional temples have been announced the Philippines for a total of thirteen. Exterior cladding of the Bacolod temple is progressing.

Stone Cladding of the Bacolod Philippines Temple Gets Underway
The main body of the Bacolod Philippines Temple has been sheathed, and stone cladding of the exterior walls has begun on the south end where the scaffold levels have been labeled one through four. Sheathing of the steeple is getting underway while work continues on an elaborate storm drain system. It is the second temple to be constructed in the Visayas, following the Cebu City Philippines Temple. Two more have been announced for Tacloban City and Iloilo City.

Sheathing the Exterior of the Bacolod Philippines Temple
Yellow sheathing boards are being attached to the Bacolod Philippines Temple to form the exterior surfaces of the 26,700-square-foot house of the Lord. Bacolod, known as "The City of Smiles," is located on the northwestern coast of the island of Negros. In April 2023, a temple was announced for the neighboring island of Panay, situated northwest of Negros. The Iloilo Philippines Temple will stand approximately 30 miles (48 km) west of the Bacolod Philippines Temple across the Guimaras Strait.

Framing the Exterior Walls of the Bacolod Philippines Temple
Gorgeous green fields surround the Bacolod Philippines Temple site, located in a developing sector on the northern side of the city. Light-gauge metal framing is being secured to the exterior of the building, which will later be sheathed and clad. On the north side of the grounds, crews have excavated a trench and are forming structures for the storm drain system. Construction on the project began just over two years ago.

Structural Frame in Place for the Bacolod Philippines Temple
Major structural framing has been erected for the Bacolod Philippines Temple, and the roof deck has been installed. Additional framing for the exterior and interior walls will move forward in the coming weeks. Work is also being carried out on installing an underground storm drain system. The climate in Bacolod shifts between a wetter season and a drier season, each about six months long.

Structural Framing of the Bacolod Philippines Temple Underway
Framing for the superstructure of the Bacolod Philippines Temple is underway. Work began with framing the steeple pedestal, located at the center of the structure, followed by the body of the steeple. Several concrete pours have been made for the main level floor slab, and the concrete support for the baptismal font is in place. A two-story ancillary building is also under construction on site.

Constructing the Steeple Frame for the Bacolod Philippines Temple
Construction is underway of the steeple frame for the Bacolod Philippines Temple. Foundation walls for the building are in place, and work has begun on installing the floor deck for the main level. The ancillary building has been framed and sheathed, and drywall installation is underway on the interior. Numerous building projects are underway in the booming city, which is considered the Philippines' third fastest growing economy.
Foundation Work at the Bacolod Philippines Temple Site
Concrete walls are being formed and poured in a large excavation pit at the Bacolod Philippines Temple site, located on the western side of Negros Island—the fourth largest island in the Philippines. Construction at the temple complex began late last year, and the general contractor is actively recruiting for positions like Civil Engineer, Safety Officer, and First Aider. It will be the sixth temple constructed in the Philippines.

Excavation Underway for the Bacolod Philippines Temple
Motorists taking Circumferential Road at the north end of Bacolod can see the excavations taking place for the construction of the Bacolod Philippines Temple. Early activity at the site included ground clearing, trenching, and installing water lines. The temple property is located next to the beautiful Forbes Hill residential development. It is part of the larger Northill Gateway mixed-use development and lifestyle district.

Construction Activity at the Bacolod Philippines Temple Site
Construction of the Bacolod Philippines Temple met delays following last year's groundbreaking event, but contractors and heavy equipment have arrived on site and stirred up activity. Signage has been posted to the blue fence that surrounds the property, giving a variety of precautions, instructions, and project information. Bacolod is the capital of the Negros Occidental province.

Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for the Bacolod Philippines Temple
Elder Taniela B. Wakolo, president of the Philippines Area, presided today at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Bacolod Philippines Temple. He was joined by his counselors, Elder Steven R. Bangerter and Elder Yoon Hwan Choi, and their wives. Invited guests included Vice-Mayor El Cid Familiaran and other government officials, interfaith leaders, and local Church leaders and members. The 26,700-square-foot temple will be constructed on a 12.3-acre site on Bacolod Airport Access Road. An ancillary building will also be constructed to house an arrival center, patron housing, and distribution center. Details Announced for the Bacolod Philippines Temple
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Bacolod Philippines Temple will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, under the direction Elder Taniela B. Wakolo of the Seventy. Attendance at the temple site will be by invitation only. The 26,700-square-foot temple be constructed on a 12.3-acre site located on Bacolod Airport Access Road, north of Buri Road. An 18,000-square-foot ancillary building will also be constructed housing patron accommodations, an arrival center, and a distribution center.
