Temple Announcement
On October 1, 2023, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Cape Coast Ghana Temple at the October 2023 General Conference. Cape Coast is in the south-central region of Ghana and is one of the country's most historic sites. It will be the third house of the Lord in the country. The Accra Ghana Temple, dedicated in 2004, was the first temple built in West Africa and the second built on the African continent. The Kumasi Ghana Temple was announced in April 2021. There are more than 100,000 Latter-day Saints in more than 350 congregations in the country.1
