New Phase 2-B Will Open Temple Baptistries
The First Presidency has announced a new Phase 2-B for temple reopening that permits baptistries to open for small groups. The first 14 temples to begin Phase 2-B of reopening as early as March 29 are the Asunción Paraguay Temple, Bern Switzerland Temple, Calgary Alberta Temple, Copenhagen Denmark Temple, Córdoba Argentina Temple, Edmonton Alberta Temple, Frankfurt Germany Temple, Guayaquil Ecuador Temple, Kansas City Missouri Temple, Manila Philippines Temple, Medford Oregon Temple, Portland Oregon Temple, Seattle Washington Temple, and Twin Falls Idaho Temple.

The beautiful new water feature at the recently rededicated Frankfurt Germany Temple reminds patrons that Christ is the source of eternal life. "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life" (John 4:14).

Elder Uchtdorf Rededicates the Frankfurt Germany Temple
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles rededicated the Frankfurt Germany Temple today in three sessions that were broadcast to satellite-equipped meetinghouses within the temple district. Last evening, Elder Uchtdorf presided at a youth devotional held in commemoration of the temple's rededication. The temple reopens following four years of renovation of the entire temple block, including a remodeling and expansion of the temple itself.

Open House Concludes for the Frankfurt Germany Temple
Nearly 29,000 visitors toured the renovated and expanded Frankfurt Germany Temple during its 16-day public open house, which concluded on Saturday. Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will rededicate the temple on Sunday, October 20, 2019.

Tours of the Frankfurt Germany Temple Begin Friday
A free public open house for the remodeled Frankfurt Germany Temple, located in Friedrichsdorf, will be held Friday, September 13, through Saturday, September 28, 2019, excluding Sundays, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (No reservations are needed.) While the interior of the temple was completely updated, historic features of the exterior were preserved including the stone cladding and copper roof.

Open House Sign Posted at Frankfurt Germany Temple
The public is invited to tour the interior of the beautifully renovated Frankfurt Germany Temple beginning one month from today on Friday, September 13, through Saturday, September 28, 2019, excluding Sundays. A sign has been posted in the garden area near the entrance to the temple welcoming guests to the open house.

Furniture Arriving at the Frankfurt Germany Temple
Furniture deliveries are being made to the Frankfurt Germany Temple in large crates that can be seen on the temple grounds. Refurbishment continues on the exterior of the villa (temple president's residence), and rolls of sod are greening up areas once covered in dirt. Flowers are being planted in preparation for September's open house.

The Frankfurt Germany Temple Villa
The charming farmhouse-style villa that stands on the site of the Frankfurt Germany Temple and serves as a residence for the temple president matron is receiving renovations alongside the temple. The exposed timbers of the structure have been treated and are now being painted a vibrant maroon color. The Church agreed to preserve and restore the villa to its 1890s beauty as a condition of receiving a building permit for the temple.

Elder Uchtdorf's Invitation to the Frankfurt Germany Temple Open House
During a recent visit to Friedrichsdorf, Germany, Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf and his wife, Harriet, addressed thousands of Europeans at a devotional held on Saturday, April 20, 2019. While there, Elder Uchtdorf also recorded a video invitation to the public to come to the Frankfurt Germany Temple open house.

Plenty of Planting at the Frankfurt Germany Temple
Truckloads of trees, shrubs, and groundcover have been delivered to the Frankfurt Germany Temple to be planted across the grounds of the temple complex. Hard landscaping efforts continue as well including the installation of lamp posts, the laying of walkway pavers, and the pouring of new concrete staircases.

Frankfurt Germany Temple to Open for Public Tours
Following a four-year remodel of the Frankfurt Germany Temple and its accompanying facilities, the public is invited to tour the renovated interior of the temple during an open house scheduled from Friday, September 13, through Saturday, September 28, 2019. Free tickets will be made available a few weeks before the open house begins. The temple will be formally rededicated in three sessions on Sunday, October 20, 2019. Senior Church leaders will hold a youth devotional the day before the rededication on Saturday, October 19, 2019.

Landscaping Progress at the Frankfurt Germany Temple
Crews at the Frankfurt Germany Temple are making headway on the hard and soft landscaping of the grounds. Pavers have been installed for the walkways, irrigation lines are appearing in the flowerbeds, and new trees are being planted. An accessibility ramp is being built from the sidewalk to the temple entrance.

Laying Pavers for Frankfurt Germany Temple Parking
At the Frankfurt Germany Temple, crews are laying pavers for the new parking area and walkways east of the temple while exterior renovations continue on the historic villa where the temple president and matron reside. The temple closed over three years ago for an expansion and renovation project.

President and Matron of Frankfurt Germany Temple Called
Wolfgang and Karin Lange Pilz have been called to serve as the new president and matron of the Frankfurt Germany Temple, which has been closed for renovation since September 2015. Work on the temple is expected to be completed next year. An exterior staircase was recently poured connecting the expanded parking area to the temple entrance.
Roof Slab Poured for Frankfurt Temple Addition
Crews stand on the recently poured roof slab for the basement addition of the Frankfurt Germany Temple, which will house the new baptismal font. A parking area has been added on the east side of the newly constructed temple missionary housing facility.
Basement Addition Taking Shape at Frankfurt Temple
Standing at the construction entrance to the Frankfurt Germany Temple, the exterior forms for the basement addition can easily be seen. Once completed, the addition will be almost entirely buried underground with the protruding portions being incorporated into the landscaping.
Baptistry Walls Poured at Frankfurt Germany Temple
Significant progress can be seen on the basement addition to the Frankfurt Germany Temple, including the newly poured walls for the baptistry. Relocation of the baptistry will allow its former space to be repurposed for other needs. The temple is anticipated to reopen next year.

On April 11, 2017, President Dieter F. Uchtdorf visited the Frankfurt Germany Temple during a European tour from April 5–15. President and Sister Uchtdorf were married and started their family in Frankfurt. They love to return for visits.

Excavators at the Frankfurt temple are hauling away more dirt from around the foundation as excavation for the baptistry addition deepens. Germany's other temple, in Freiberg, was rededicated last year.
Structural Column Set at Frankfurt Germany Temple
The cylindrical rebar that sat in a staging area of the Frankfurt Germany Temple construction site has now gone to use to create a concrete structural column in the basement addition. A pile driver stands ready for more work.

Alterations have been made to the basement walls on the east side of the Frankfurt Germany Temple in preparation for an underground addition that will house the new baptistry. Insulating foam block has been attached to the entrance.
