President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, second counselor in the First Presidency, rededicated the Freiberg Germany Temple yesterday in the country of his boyhood.

Open house activities continue at the newly renovated Freiberg Germany Temple, which will be rededicated on September 4. No tickets are needed to tour the building. Those who cannot visit the temple before Saturday may take a virtual tour.

First Stake Organized in the Czech Republic
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf returned to the country of his birth this past weekend to organize the first stake in the Czech Republic. The stake belongs to the Freiberg Germany Temple, which will be rededicated on September 4, 2016.
Freiberg Germany Temple to be Rededicated
The Freiberg Germany Temple has been expanded and renovated. It opens for free public tours from Friday, August 12, through Saturday, August 27, 2016. The temple will be rededicated on Sunday, September 4, with services broadcast to all of Germany and the units in the temple district.
A Visitors' Center at the Freiberg Germany Temple
During the renovation of the Freiberg Germany Temple, a portion of the adjacent chapel has been converted into a temporary visitors' centers where sister missionaries in the Germany Berlin Mission answer questions and conduct tours for visitors.
Expanding the Freiberg Germany Temple
Forms are going up for the exterior walls that will enclose the expansion of the Freiberg Germany Temple. The temple currently has just one ordinance room, which limits the frequency of sessions. Members of the temple district travel long distances from various European nations.
Freiberg Germany Temple Demolition Underway
Construction workers at the Freiberg Germany Temple are busy with demolition activities including the removal of shingles and timber from the roof structure. The temple closed in early February for a renovation project that is expected to last until May 2016.
Freiberg Germany Temple Closed for Renovation
Today the Freiberg Germany Temple officially closed for renovation with an expected completion in mid-2016. The temple serves Saints throughout Eastern Europe including eastern Germany, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Moldova.
Freiberg Germany Temple Slated for Second Renovation
The Freiberg Germany Temple is scheduled to close on February 9, 2015, for a 15-month renovation. The temple was previously rededicated in 2002 after renovation. During the closure, the Frankfurt Germany Temple will accommodate patrons from the Freiberg Germany Temple District.
