Kyiv Ukraine Temple Resumes Operations on a Limited Basis
The Kyiv Ukraine Temple reopened on Friday, as confirmed by church spokesperson Irene Caso who said, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has carefully evaluated the current circumstances and decided to resume—on a limited basis—the sacred religious ceremonies in the temple." She added, "Church members are able to make appointments to participate in temple ceremonies, which began October 14, 2022." The temple closed in February following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Kyiv Ukraine Temple Closes Until Further Notice
The Kyiv Ukraine Temple has been closed until further notice in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The Church relocated all missionaries serving in the country about a month ago out of an abundance of caution. On Tuesday, the presidency of the Eastern Europe Area reassured members that the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles were fully aware of the unfolding events in Ukraine and that the situation is being closely monitored on an hourly and daily basis.

More Temples to Begin Phase 3 in July
Sixteen temples began Phase 3 of reopening yesterday, and many more will join through the end of July. In all, 117 temples have begun or are preparing to begin Phase 3. On July 5, the Mexico City Mexico Temple, Paris France Temple, The Hague Netherlands Temple, and Vancouver British Columbia Temple will begin Phase 2-B while the Kyiv Ukraine Temple will reopen in Phase 1. On the date, all temples will have officially reopened since the worldwide closure in March 2020.
Elder Nelson Organizes First Stake in Armenia
Nestled in a mountainous region bordered by the countries of Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, the small Christian nation of Armenia received its first stake on Sunday, organized by Elder Russell M. Nelson of the Twelve. The Yerevan Armenia Stake belongs to the Kyiv Ukraine Temple District.
First Temple Dedicated in the Former Soviet Union
On Sunday, August 29, President Thomas S. Monson dedicated the Kyiv Ukraine Temple—the first LDS temple built in the former Soviet Union. The temple serves Armenia, Belorussia, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Moldavia, Romania, Russia and Ukraine.
Public Invited to Tour the Kyiv Ukraine Temple for Two Weeks Before Its Dedication
The public is invited to attend the open house of the Kyiv Ukraine Temple beginning this Saturday, August 7, and continuing through Saturday, August 21, excluding Sundays. Hours on Mondays are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The temple will be dedicated on Sunday, August 29, over twelve years after its announcement. August Dedication Slated for the Kyiv Ukraine Temple

Scaffolding has come down at the Kyiv Ukraine Temple, revealing the recently installed stone and art glass. The temple complex includes a patron housing facility, meetinghouse, and a mission office. Open house and dedication dates have not yet been announced.

Damage Sustained at the Kyiv Ukraine Temple Construction Site
Gusting winds during a recent storm that passed over the construction site of the Kyiv Ukraine Temple brought down several levels of scaffolding from the top of the temple, broke a mission office window, twisted metal soffits and more, as reported by Elder and Sister Williams of the Ukraine Kyiv Mission.
President Uchtdorf and Elder Andersen Include Kyiv Temple in Eastern European Travels
