Another Step Forward for the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple
Construction of the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple in northwest Las Vegas took another step forward on Tuesday when the Las Vegas Planning Commission voted to vacate a city easement on the 17.5-acre temple site to accommodate a drainage line for the project, which was approved by the City Council in July. Both supporters and opponents were in attendance, including members of the Nevada Rural Preservation Alliance who are currently taking legal action against the City of Las Vegas regarding its vote on the temple project.

City Council Approves Lone Mountain Nevada Temple Project
In a 7-0 vote, the Las Vegas City Council unanimously approved the proposal for the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple yesterday, following months of community debate. Church representatives agreed to lower the height of the originally proposed 216-foot steeple to 196 feet to avoid a Federal Aviation Administration mandate for a blinking red light at the top of buildings that are over 200 feet tall. The 70,194-square-foot temple will be built on a 20-acre site along with a 15,982-square-foot meetinghouse, a 1,807-square-foot grounds building, and a 1,800-square-foot pavilion.

Lone Mountain Nevada Temple Exterior Rendering Published
An exterior rendering for the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple has been published. The three-story, 87,000-square-foot temple will be constructed on a 19.8-acre site located southwest of Hickman Avenue between North Grand Canyon Drive and Tee Pee Lane in the Lone Mountain neighborhood of Las Vegas. It is the second temple to be built in Las Vegas and the fourth in the state. No date has been announced for the groundbreaking.

Location Officially Announced for the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple
Preliminary plans for the Lone Mountain Nevada Temple have been announced. The three-story, 87,000-square-foot temple will be constructed on a 19.8-acre site located southwest of Hickman Avenue between North Grand Canyon Drive and Tee Pee Lane in the Lone Mountain neighborhood of Las Vegas. It is the second temple to be built in the city, joining the Las Vegas Nevada Temple that was dedicated in 1989. An exterior rendering and groundbreaking date will be released later.
