Exterior Rendering Published for the West Jordan Utah Temple
An exterior rendering of the multi-story, 85,000-square-foot West Jordan Utah Temple has been published. The location was announced nearly a year ago as a 16.1-acre property located west of Highway 111 at approximately 7148 South. The temple site will be shared with a meetinghouse and joint parking lot. The temple is the sixth to be constructed in Salt Lake County and will serve members on the west end of the valley.
Open House and Dedication Announced for the Bahía Blanca Argentina Temple
A public open house for the Bahía Blanca Argentina Temple has been announced for Thursday, October 16, through Saturday, November 1, 2025, excluding Sundays. Before the public portion of the open house, a media day will be held on Tuesday, October 14, followed by tours for invited guests on that day and the next. Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will dedicate the temple on Sunday, November 23, 2025. The dedicatory session will be broadcast to all congregations in the temple district.
Opening Dates Released for the Antofagasta Chile Temple
All are welcome to a public open house for the Antofagasta Chile Temple beginning Wednesday, May 14, and continuing through Saturday, May 24, 2025, excluding Sundays. A media day will kick off the event on Monday, May 12, followed by invited guest tours on Tuesday, May 13. Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will dedicate the temple on Sunday, June 15, 2025. The dedicatory session will be broadcast to all congregations in the temple district.
Elder Kearon Presides at the Auckland New Zealand Temple Dedication
Elder Patrick Kearon of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Auckland New Zealand Temple on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025. "Everything [about the temple] is to help us to look beyond ourselves and come to a deeper understanding of our life's purpose as seen through heaven's eyes," he said. In his dedicatory prayer, he plead that the temple would stand "as a sacred symbol of Thy love for Thy children and their love for Thee. May it be a house of joy and a beacon of light to those who enter and to all who see it."
Open House Begins for the Nairobi Kenya Temple
All are welcome to tour the newly constructed Nairobi Kenya Temple during a public open house beginning Thursday, April 17, and continuing through Saturday, May 3, 2025, with no tours held on Sundays. For those who cannot attend the open house in person, a virtual tour is available online. Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will dedicate the temple in one session on Sunday, May 18, 2025. The dedicatory session will be broadcast live to all units in the temple district.
Entrance Driveway to the Port Moresby Papua New Guinea Temple
Preparations are moving forward for paving the entrance driveway to the Port Moresby Papua New Guinea Temple site. The hilltop property was formerly the site of a Church meetinghouse, which was razed to make way for the temple, a housing facility, and a new meetinghouse. Church members in Papua New Guinea are organized into 3 stakes and 11 districts that currently belong to the Suva Fiji Temple district.
Portico Moldings Added to the Pago Pago American Samoa Temple
Ornamented moldings have been attached to the entrance portico of the Pago Pago American Samoa Temple, adding beauty to the columns and arches and bringing the exterior of the temple closer to completion. The dedication of the temple will be the fulfillment of a dream decades in the making. A temple was originally announced for American Samoa in 1977, but the location was later changed to Apia, Samoa.
Inscription Panels Installed at the Lindon Utah Temple
Stone panels inscribed with the sacred words Holiness to the Lord – The House of the Lord have been installed on the north portico of the Lindon Utah Temple over the main entrance. "And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the Lord.…And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, Holiness to the Lord" (Exodus 28:35–36).
Scaffolding Removed from the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple Tower
Scaffolding has been removed from the handsome tower that rises atop the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple. Cladding of the structure was recently completed, and only a little cladding remains to be done on the main building. On the grounds, lamp posts have been installed, trees planted, and a wide variety of plants established. It is the third temple to be constructed in Oregon.
Framing the Parapets on Top of the Anchorage Alaska Temple
On top of the Anchorage Alaska Temple, crews are framing parapets around the raised rectangular sections that sit over the four main wings of the building. Parapets extend the exterior walls above the roofline to serve both a functional and aesthetic purpose. Wood blocking is being installed on top of the parapets to provide a solid base for the coping stones that will be installed during the cladding phase. Sheathing of the exterior has largely been completed, and window frames have been installed.
Main Entrance Doors Installed for the Montpelier Idaho Temple
Gold doors have been installed at the main entrance to the Montpelier Idaho Temple, which will have panes of stained glass inserted later. There are currently six dedicated temples in Idaho. The Burley Idaho Temple will be the seventh, the Montpelier Idaho Temple the eighth, and the Teton River Idaho Temple the ninth. Temples have also been announced for Coeur d'Alene in Northern Idaho and for Caldwell, located on the west end of the Boise metropolitan area.
Opening Dates Announced for the Grand Junction Colorado Temple
The dates for the open house and dedication of the Grand Junction Colorado Temple have been announced. A media day will be held on Monday, September 8, followed by two days of tours for invited guests. Tours for the public will be offered from Thursday, September 11, through Saturday, September 27, excluding Sundays. The temple will be dedicated by President Jeffrey R. Holland, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on Sunday, October 19, 2025. The dedicatory session will be broadcast to all units in the temple district.

The dates for the open house and dedication of the Elko Nevada Temple have been announced. A media day will be held on Wednesday, August 27, followed by two days of tours for invited guests. Tours for the public will be offered from Saturday, August 30, through Saturday, September 13, excluding Sundays. The temple will be dedicated by Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on Sunday, October 12, 2025. The dedicatory session will be broadcast to all units in the temple district.
Cladding Progress at the Torreón Mexico Temple
Cladding panels continue to be secured to the exterior walls of the Torreón Mexico Temple. Church members in the region currently belong to the Monterrey Mexico Temple district, which is comprised of 24 stakes and 5 districts across four states. Both the Torreón Mexico Temple, located west of Monterrey, and the newly announced Reynosa Mexico Temple, located east of Monterrey, will serve portions of this district.
Sheathing the Exterior of the Cody Wyoming Temple
With the structural frame in place for the upper walls and steeple of the Cody Wyoming Temple, crews are attaching sheathing panels to the modules below. Construction began just over six months ago and is moving forward smoothly. It is the third temple to be constructed in the Cowboy State, joining the Star Valley Wyoming Temple (2016) and the Casper Wyoming Temple (2024).

15 New Temples Announced at the 195th Annual General Conference
At the conclusion of the 195th Annual General Conference, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans for the construction of 15 new temples in the following locations: Reynosa, Mexico; Chorrillos, Peru; Rivera, Uruguay; Campo Grande, Brazil; Porto, Portugal; Uyo, Nigeria; San Jose del Monte, Philippines; Nouméa, New Caledonia; Liverpool, Australia; Caldwell, Idaho; Flagstaff, Arizona; Rapid City, South Dakota; Greenville, South Carolina; Norfolk, Virginia; and Spanish Fork, Utah.
Backfilling the Basement of the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple
Portions of the basement foundation for the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple have been backfilled with dirt. The concrete for the main level floor has been poured, and decking is being installed for the second level floor. Structural framing for the third floor is underway among the concrete shafts that will house the temple's stairways and elevators. Provo was the second city in the world to have two temples—the first being South Jordan, where the Jordan River Utah Temple and Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple are located.
Neiafu Tonga Temple Grounds Taking Shape
The grounds of the Neiafu Tonga Temple are taking shape. The white walls of the flowerbeds match the exterior walls of temple, which contrast beautifully with the deep blue roof and golden spire. Local Church members are thrilled to have a temple under construction on their island of Vava'u. They currently attend the Nuku'alofa Tonga Temple, located approximately 190 miles (300 km) to the south on the island of Tongatapu.
Lighting the Lindon Utah Temple Steeples
Exterior lighting tests have begun for the double steeples of the Lindon Utah Temple. At the front of the property, the monument sign has been raised several inches, and the inscribed panels will be installed after painting. The only remaining scaffolding is over the north and south porticos where granite cladding is wrapping up. Construction of the temple reaches its three-year anniversary later this month.
Tower Frame Installed Atop the Querétaro Mexico Temple
The frame for the central tower on top of the Querétaro Mexico Temple has been installed, and a vapor barrier is being attached to the concrete exterior walls. The temple is located north of the historic center of Querétaro on Prolongación Tecnológico, across from a campus of technology schools. There are currently 14 dedicated temples in Mexico, 3 under construction, and 9 more announced.
Framing the Austin Texas Temple Superstructure
Structural steel has been staged at the Austin Texas Temple construction site where framing for the superstructure of the building is quickly rising. Two large concrete pours have been made for the main floor, and decking is being installed for a third pour. The staircase leading to the basement has been installed where the baptismal font is housed. Construction has been underway for approximately seven and a half months.
Open House Reservations Available for the Syracuse Utah Temple
Reservations are now available for the public open house of the Syracuse Utah Temple, beginning Saturday, May 10, and continuing through Saturday, May 31, excluding Sundays. All are welcome to learn about the temple, including members of the Church, members of the community, and anyone who wants to know what a temple is about.
Testing the Soil for the Tuguegarao City Philippines Temple
Drilling is taking place at the Tuguegarao City Philippines Temple site to determine the depth of the bedrock and to extract core samples that will be analyzed to determine the soil's strength, compaction, and water content. This information is essential for engineering a safe and solid foundation. Plans for the temple were announced two years ago, and the site location was announced six weeks ago on February 18, 2025.
Renovating the Orlando Florida Temple Parking Lots
Satellite imagery from February shows the progress being made on renovation of the parking lots at the Orlando Florida Temple site. The trees and pavement have been removed, allowing the parking areas to be reconfigured before they are repaved and replanted. There are currently two operating temples in the state: the Tallahassee Florida Temple in North Florida and the Fort Lauderdale Florida Temple in South Florida.
Installing Stained Glass in the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple
The installation of stained glass in the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple has begun. Roofing of the tower is progressing, and stone cladding of the exterior is virtually complete. Along the street side of the property, permanent fencing is being installed next to the guardhouse where vehicles will enter. Numerous trees have been established, and preparations are underway for much more landscaping.
Preliminary Construction Work at the Tampa Florida Temple Site
A chain-link fence has been installed around the Tampa Florida Temple site where crews and heavy equipment will be carrying out preliminary construction activities, including demolition of the existing facility. Cooley Law School was the occupant of the building, but the campus has been relocated from its former Riverview location to the Tampa Oaks area of Temple Terrace.
Location Announced for the Retalhuleu Guatemala Temple
The location of the Retalhuleu Guatemala Temple has been announced as a 5.51-acre site located at Km. 182.5 RN-9, Caserío Puca I, Municipio de San Sebastian, Retalhuleu, Guatemala. The official exterior rendering for the temple has also been published. There are currently three dedicated temples in Guatemala and one under construction. Plans have been announced for temples in Huehuetenango and Retalhuleu.
Structural Framing Rising for the Cagayan de Oro Philippines Temple
The first section of framing for the superstructure of the Cagayan de Oro Philippines Temple has been erected. Framing of the two-story structure will progress from one end of the foundation to the other. The sloped roof will aid in shedding the heavy rainfall that is typical of the island's tropical climate. A fence has been installed along the top of the property's tiered retaining walls.
New Sculpture Installed on Temple Square
A beautiful sculpture by Leroy Transfield has been recently installed on Temple Square, depicting Joseph Smith with the gold plates while looking up at the angel Moroni. On the north side of the temple, construction of the sealing wing continues and cladding of the two entrance pavilions is progressing. The exteriors of the visitor pavilions have been completed on the south side of the temple, and the west end of Temple Square has reopened. Renovations of the Beehive House, Lion House, and Joseph Smith Memorial Building are advancing.
Grass Removed from the San Diego California Temple Grounds
More landscaping has been removed from the grounds of the San Diego California Temple, including the grass in the oval-shaped gathering area at the south end of the property. The striking edifice has been closed for a major renovation of the interior, exterior, and grounds for the past 20 months. It is the southernmost temple in California where there are 8 dedicated temples, 2 under construction, and 2 announced for construction.
