Beautiful Rendering Published for the Winchester Virginia Temple
An exterior rendering for the proposed design of the beautiful Winchester Virginia Temple has been published. The 30,000-square-foot temple will be constructed in the historic city (founded in 1744) on an 11.27-acre site located at 200 Merrimans Lane in Winchester. It will be the second temple constructed in the Old Dominion state, following the Richmond Virginia Temple (2023). A third temple has been announced for Roanoke.
Exterior Rendering Released for the Springfield Missouri Temple
The proposed exterior for the Springfield Missouri Temple has been revealed in a newly published artistic rendering. The 29,000-square-foot, single-story temple will be constructed on a portion of a 38-acre Church-owned property located at 2720 East Farm Road 188 in Springfield. It will be the third temple built in Missouri, joining the St. Louis Missouri Temple (1997) and the Kansas City Missouri Temple (2012).
Artistic Rendering for the Jacksonville Florida Temple Made Public
An artistic rendering of the Jacksonville Florida Temple has been released to the public. The single-story temple of approximately 29,000 square feet will be built on a 6.6-acre site located at 3323 Loretto Road in Jacksonville. It will be the fifth temple constructed in the Sunshine State, following the Orlando Florida Temple (1994), Fort Lauderdale Florida Temple (2014), Tallahassee Florida Temple (2024), and Tampa Florida Temple (announced).
Harrisburg Pennsylvania Temple Artistic Rendering Released
An exterior rendering of the Harrisburg Pennsylvania Temple has been published. The 20,000-square-foot, single-story temple will be constructed on a 5.36-acre site located at 605 Rutherford Road in Harrisburg. It will be the third temple built in Pennsylvania, following the Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple (2016) and Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Temple (2024).
Rendering of the Mexico City Benemérito Mexico Temple Released
An artistic rendering of the Mexico City Benemérito Mexico Temple has been released. The two-story temple of approximately 29,000 square feet will stand near the Mexico City Missionary Training Center, located at Tenayuca-Chalmita 828 in the Zona Escolar neighborhood of the Gustavo A. Madero borough of Mexico City. It will be the second temple constructed in the city, following the Mexico City Mexico Temple (1983).
Site Announced for the Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple
The location of the Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple has been announced as a 1.56-acre site located at the intersection of Avenida Córdoba and Reconquista in the San Nicolás neighborhood of Downtown Buenos Aires. The property previously served as a parking lot. The temple will be the second in Greater Buenos Aires, following the Buenos Aires Argentina Temple (1980).
Refacing the Exterior Walls of the Manhattan New York Temple
The exterior of the Manhattan New York Temple has been completely surrounded in scaffolding, providing platforms for the crews who are removing the travertine cladding and preparing the walls to be refaced. Covered sidewalks provide protection to the many pedestrians who walk by the temple each day. Renovations began in March and are expected to take about three years to complete.
Exterior Cladding of the Modesto California Temple Begins
Stone cladding of the Modesto California Temple has begun along the base of the south face. The 30,000-square-foot building, which has been under construction for the past 14 months, will serve Church members in the San Joaquin Basin who currently attend the Oakland California Temple, Fresno California Temple, or Sacramento California Temple. It is one of two new temples under construction in California, the other being the Yorba Linda California Temple.
Finish Work Progressing Inside the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple
Inside the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple, construction workers are taping and mudding drywalled rooms while craftsmen are installing millwork. On the exterior, granite cladding is making progressing, and clear glass has been installed in the window openings. Soft landscaping is being added to the grounds where trees have been planted, bushes and plants are being established, and grass seed is sprouting.
Installing the Monument Sign Panels for the Lindon Utah Temple
Installation of the inscribed panels for the monument sign of the Lindon Utah Temple is underway. The sign sits along Center Street on the north side of the temple site, identifying the building to passing motorists. Nearby fence posts are also being clad in granite that matches the temple's exterior. The temple in Lindon will be the seventh dedicated in Utah County. An eighth temple has been announced for the city of Lehi.
Scaffolding Removed from the Davao Philippines Temple
The handsome facade of the Davao Philippines Temple can now be seen without the obstruction of scaffolding, which has recently been removed. It is the first temple to be constructed on the Filipino island of Mindanao. Construction has begun on a second temple for the island—the Cagayan de Oro Philippines Temple. It shares a similar design and floor plan to the temple in Davao, connecting the two buildings.
Gorgeous Sunset at the Burley Idaho Temple
Church members in the Burley region are looking forward with excitement to the completion of the Burley Idaho Temple. The area's fertile soil and abundant water makes it an ideal location for cultivating crops, especially the famous Idaho potato, which is incorporated into the interior design of the building. The temple will be the seventh in Idaho. Two more are under construction in Montpelier and Rexburg, and the tenth has been announced for Coeur d'Alene.
Enclosing the Interior of the Knoxville Tennessee Temple
Nearly the entire exterior of the Knoxville Tennessee Temple has been sheathed and weatherproofed while the window openings have been covered in plastic sheeting to enclose the interior where work is getting underway. The temple is the third to be constructed in the Volunteer State, following the Memphis Tennessee Temple (2000) and the Nashville Tennessee Temple (2000).
Foundation Walls for the Teton River Idaho Temple Visible
Motorists who drive by the Teton River Idaho Temple site in northern Rexburg will see the concrete foundation walls for the 100,000-square-foot building rising above grade next to a massive crane. Construction of the city's second temple started six months ago at the beginning of June. The property is located next to Highway 20, the road that leads to the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
Demolition Gets Underway at the Singapore Temple Site
Demolition of the residence at the Singapore Temple site has begun. When the property was originally acquired by the Church, the house was repurposed and used as a ward meetinghouse until the congregation was relocated about a year ago in preparation for the temple construction. Heavy equipment is on site, and covered scaffolding has been erected. No date has been announced yet for the groundbreaking ceremony.
Scaffolding Removed from the Alabang Philippines Temple Spire
Scaffolding is being removed from the tall tapering steeple of the Alabang Philippines Temple. The two-story accommodation center that stands behind the temple is seen the accompanying photograph. It will provide restroom facilities for arriving patrons and temporary housing units for those traveling long distances. Construction at the temple complex began four-and-a-half years ago and is expected to be completed next year.
Groundbreaking Event Held for the Grand Rapids Michigan Temple
Elder Mathias Held of the North America Northeast Area Presidency presided at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Grand Rapids Michigan Temple on Saturday, December 7, 2024. "We can witness before our eyes how the work is rolling forward, how the Lord is hastening His work at this very special time," he said. In his site dedicatory prayer, he asked that God "hallow and protect this temple site, which will come to be a place of great spiritual strength and power."
Groundbreaking Date Announced for the Cali Colombia Temple
Elder Jorge T. Becerra, president of the South America Northwest Area, will preside at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Cali Colombia Temple on Saturday, March 1, 2025. The temple will be constructed on a 3.14-acre site on La Flora in Cali, Colombia. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 9,500 square feet. The temple will be Colombia's third. A fourth has been announced for Medellín.
Exterior Rendering Released for the Tacloban City Philippines Temple
The official exterior rendering for the Tacloban City Philippines Temple has been published. The two-story temple will be approximately 21,407 square feet with a steeple over the main entrance. The groundbreaking has been announced for Saturday, January 18, 2025. Elder Michael B. Strong, Second Counselor in the Philippines Area Presidency, will preside.
Tower Crane Installed at the Londrina Brazil Temple Site
A tower crane has been installed at the Londrina Brazil Temple site to assist in the construction of this house of the Lord. The temple site has been cleared, and work is getting underway on the foundation. The groundbreaking was held almost four months with Elder Ciro Schmeil of the Brazil Area Presidency presiding. It will be the second temple to be built in the Brazilian state of Paraná, following the Curitiba Brazil Temple.
Construction Progress at the Fort Worth Texas Temple Complex
Crews at the Fort Worth Texas Temple are making excellent progress on attaching beautiful stone panels to the building's exterior walls. The meetinghouse next to the temple has been roofed, and the installation bracket for the steeple is in place. The building will have stucco walls with a wainscot of brick. Behind the meetinghouse is a low-profile maintenance and storage building.
Elder Kearon Dedicates the Tallahassee Florida Temple
Elder Patrick Kearon of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles dedicated the Tallahassee Florida Temple on Sunday, December 8, 2024. "Our Savior can be found everywhere in the temple," he said. "In this sacred space, our true selves can be found as we leave the distractions and pettiness of the world outside and receive an extra measure of the Spirit of the Lord to help us hear His still, small voice and meet the demands of life." The temple is the sixteenth to be dedicated in 2024 and the 202nd dedicated temple in operation worldwide.
Cladding the Exterior of the Cleveland Ohio Temple
Construction crews at the Cleveland Ohio Temple site are making quick work of hanging the cladding panels on the exterior of the temple, which has been under construction for six months. In the dedicatory prayer of the nearby Kirtland Temple, a revelation from the Lord was quoted where He declared: "Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing, and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God" (D&C 109:8).
Monument Sign Installed at the Phnom Penh Cambodia Temple Site
Among the ornamental fence panels that have installed on the street side of the Phnom Penh Cambodia Temple site is a beautiful monument sign, stating the name of the Church and the temple. With the structural framing and exterior finishes completed for the temple and adjoining ancillary building, work is focused on finishing the interiors and landscaping the grounds.
Planting Palm Trees on the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple Grounds
On the north side of the staircases at the rear side of the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple grounds, royal palm trees are being established while installation of the hardscape continues. Large retaining walls have been set in place, and a curving driveway is being defined that leads from the street below to the parking lot above. With the majority of the exterior walls clad in stone, masons are now applying the panels to the base of the tower.
Preparing for the Basement Floor Slab of the Austin Texas Temple
Trenching and tarping is advancing at the Austin Texas Temple site where crews are roughing-in plumbing and preparing to pour the basement floor slab. The basement will house the baptismal font and sit under the baptistry wing of the main floor. Concrete footings for the rest of the building will be installed in the coming weeks. Austin is the capital of the state of Texas and the fourth most populous city.
Scaffolding Removed from the Bahía Blanca Argentina Temple
With stone cladding of the exterior wrapping up, scaffolding has been removed from the front of the Bahía Blanca Argentina Temple. Sidewalks have been installed outside the property fence, flanked by park strips on either side. Over the coming weeks, soft landscaping will beautify the grounds, as flowers, plants, and grass transform the bare patches of soil into glorious gardens.
Demolition Activity at the Cali Colombia Temple Site
Demolition and landscape removal are progressing at the Cali Colombia Temple site. These activities will continue for several more months to prepare the ground for construction of the temple. The property is located in the northern section of the city near many residential high-rise buildings. Cali is the most populous city in southwest Colombia with over 2.2 million residents.
Steel Framing Inside the Anchorage Alaska Temple
Steel framing for the roof of the new Anchorage Alaska Temple has begun inside the exterior walls. The frame connects to the structural walls for the steeple, which will sit over the celestial room. The openings left at the top of the steeple walls will accommodate windows and indented corners. The current temple building stands in the background of the photograph and will continue to operate until the new building is ready.
Planning Permission for the Birmingham England Temple Granted
The Birmingham City Council has granted planning permission for the Birmingham England Temple. "I’m so delighted we now have formal approval to move forward with the construction of the temple," said Elder Martin J. Turvey, a senior Church leader in the United Kingdom. "I’m grateful to everyone who has worked so hard to get us to this point, especially that the local community response to the temple has been largely so positive. What a blessing this will be."
