Rescue Stories Emerge from the Natural Disaster that Impacted Tonga
Tongan communities continue to clean up and rebuild from the undersea volcanic eruption and devastating tsunami that unleashed on the islands last month. Four people died, 18 were injured, and numerous homes were damaged or destroyed. An undersea internet cable was severed, significantly hampering communication, and heavy ash settled across the islands as seen in the accompanying photograph of the Nuku'alofa Tonga Temple.
