President Eyring Rededicates the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple
"Don’t forget that our ancestors are real," said President Henry B. Eyring, second counselor in the First Presidency, at the rededication of the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple. "They are waiting and when we do their [temple] work, the warm feeling [we feel] is the Spirit. That warm feeling will stay with you forever." The temple was rededicated following a renovation of the interior and exterior that altered the appearance of the temple and made numerous improvements.
Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple Open House Begins
The Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple opens to the public this Wednesday, April 24, through Wednesday, May 1, for free walking tours of the renovated interior. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations will receive first priority. The temple will be rededicated by President Henry B. Eyring on Sunday, May 19, 2019.
Renovation Finished for the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple
Construction was completed on the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple earlier this week, and the building was turned over to the Church on Tuesday, April 2. The temple will be prepared for an open house beginning Wednesday, April 24, and concluding Wednesday, May 1. President Eyring will rededicate the temple on Sunday, May 19, 2019.
Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple Fully Lit at Night
The exterior lighting system for the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple is now operational for the entire building. Sconces that are being attached to either side of the entrance vestibule will add even more light. Laborers are planting bushes and shrubs in the flowerbed areas while a circular landscaping feature is being framed directly across from the entrance doors.

At the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple, the exterior stone cladding has been completed and the scaffolding removed, revealing the beautiful entrance doors that feature decorative transom windows and sidelights. The temple will be rededicated in a private session in three months.

The steeple of the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple shines like a beacon at night under the new exterior lighting system that is being installed and tested. Significant progress has been made inside the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple where the majority of the stained glass has been installed, the oxen for the baptismal font have been set in place, the endowment room mural has been hung, and millwork and tile installation are underway.

Beautiful new art glass windows now fill the window openings of the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple, which received its angel Moroni statue last month and continues to be clad in stone. The temple closed for renovation one year ago on October 15, 2017. Construction is expected to finish next year.

Subcontractors at the are working hard during the demolition phase of the temple renovation. The entrance canopy and doors have been removed along with the art glass windows. The exterior cladding is coming down one piece at a time.
Marble Cladding Coming Down at Oklahoma City Temple
As the renovation of the progresses, pieces of marble cladding are coming off the exterior of the building while crews remove the retaining walls around the grounds. The temple closed three weeks ago and is expected to be completed in 2019.
Angel Moroni Removed from Spire of Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple
With renovation underway for the , the beloved angel Moroni statue has been carefully lifted off the spire and stored for refurbishment. The temple will undergo a complete interior and exterior renovation that will give the building an updated exterior appearance and modify the existing floor plan to be more efficient. The temple was originally dedicated over 17 years ago by President James E. Faust.
