Framing of the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple Gets Underway

The first columns have been erected for the structural frame of the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple. A tower crane on site helps with the lifting and positioning of the heavy steel components. The city is located over 220 km (135 miles) from the nearest temple in Campinas. There are currently two dedicated temples in the state of São Paulo with a third under construction in Ribeirão Preto and two more planned for São Paulo East and Santos.

Foundation Work Continues for the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple

Work continues on building the foundations for the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple and ancillary building. The temple site is located just west of a strip of high-rise condominium buildings, creating a striking backdrop for this house of the Lord. The city of Ribeirão Preto is known for its many parks and gardens. The park-like grounds of the temple will blend beautifully into the community.

Foundation Work at the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple Site

Crews are making progress on the foundations for the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple and ancillary building. Excavation has been carried out, and concrete forms are going up. The mineral-rich clay soil has a distinct red hue from the presence of volcanic basalt rock. The city is located in the interior of Brazil approximately 200 miles (320 km) northwest of São Paulo, anchoring a metropolitan area of over one million people.

Excavating for the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple Foundation

An excavator works inside of a fenced area at the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple site, scooping out red soil where the foundation for the temple will be installed. Groundbreaking services were held almost three weeks ago to mark the commencement of construction on Brazil's thirteenth temple. The temple will be surrounded by parking on three sides and stand near an accommodation center.

Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple

Groundbreaking services for the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple were held on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Elder Joni L. Koch, Brazil Area President, presided and offered the dedicatory prayer. "We remember with appreciation those who were the first members of the Church in this region," he prayed. "The example of these pioneers has been a moral and spiritual support for your kingdom to flourish from these few who stood firm so that thousands of Latter-day Saints could on this day—here in this part of the earth—enjoy this sublime moment."

Groundbreaking Services Announced for the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple

Elder Joni L. Koch, president of the Brazil Area, will preside at the groundbreaking services for the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple on Saturday, June 22, 2024. The temple will be constructed at the intersection of Av. Antonio Marcal and R. Jose Brandani in Ribeirão Preto. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 32,000 square feet. There are currently 23 temples dedicated, under construction, or in planning for Brazil.

Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple Rendering Released Today

A computer-generated rendering of the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple was published today, providing a sneak peek of how the completed building will appear once it has been constructed. The temple was first announced in October 2022, and the location was disclosed the following month. The temple site is located at the intersection of Avenida Antônio Marçal and R. José Brandani in Ribeirão Preto. The single-story temple will be approximately 32,000 square feet.

Beautiful Site Selected for the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple

A block-sized property in a residential area on the south side of Ribeirão Preto has been selected as the site for the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple. It is located at the intersection of Avenida Antônio Marçal and R. José Brandani. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 32,000 square feet. Ribeirão Preto is a city of over 700,000 residents located in the north-central region of the state of São Paulo.
