General Contractor Selected for the Singapore Temple
Preparations continue for construction of the Singapore Temple. Takenaka Corporation has been selected as the general contractor, which is the same company that constructed the Sapporo Japan Temple and renovated the Tokyo Japan Temple. Takenaka has also carried out significant projects at National Gallery Singapore and Singapore's Changi Airport. The existing building at the temple site was used as a meetinghouse for the Jurong Ward until late last year when the ward was relocated to the stake center. The property has now been turned over to Special Projects, but no groundbreaking date has been announced yet.
