The Tampa Florida Temple is currently in the planning stages. No groundbreaking date has been announced.
Temple Rendering
On March 20, 2023, an exterior rendering of the Tampa Florida Temple was released to the public.1
Temple Site
On April 22, 2024, a new location for the Tampa Florida Temple was announced as a 12-acre site located at 9445 Camden Fields Parkway, Riverview, Florida. The single-story temple will be approximately 29,000 square feet.2 The previous location for the temple was announced on October 31, 2022, as a 16.2-acre site adjacent to an existing meetinghouse at 4806 Bell Shoals Road in Valrico.3
Temple Announcement
On April 3, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Tampa Florida Temple at the April 2022 General Conference. Located in Central Florida, the Tampa Florida Temple will be the state’s fourth. There are more than 160,000 Latter-day Saints and some 260 congregations in the state. Other temples in operation or under construction at the time of the announcement were the Orlando Florida Temple, Fort Lauderdale Florida Temple, and Tallahassee Florida Temple.4
