Construction Status

The Toluca Mexico Temple is currently in the planning stages. No groundbreaking date has been announced.


Temple Rendering

On December 23, 2024, the official exterior rendering of the Toluca Mexico Temple was released to the public.1


Temple Site

On November 20, 2023, the location of the Toluca Mexico Temple was announced as a 4.87-acre site located at the intersection of Calle Guadalupe Victoria and Calle Uruapan in the Colonia Las Jaras neighborhood of Metepec, a suburb southeast of Toluca. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 19,000 square feet.2


Temple Announcement

On October 2, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Toluca Mexico Temple at the October 2022 General Conference. Toluca, formally known as Toluca de Lerdo, is the capital of Mexico’s central state of Mexico. It is located about 40 miles west of Mexico City. With a population of about 900,000 residents, Toluca is the fifth most populous city in the country.3
