Site Preparations to Begin for the Vancouver Washington Temple
Approvals have been granted for preliminary construction at the Vancouver Washington Temple site. Crews will clear the land, install utilities, and realign Bybee Road to accommodate construction of the temple. "The commencement of this work marks an exciting milestone in the process of building a house of the Lord in the Vancouver area," said Elder Gordon L. Treadway, Area Authority for the Church. "This sacred place will be a tremendous blessing for the many Latter-day Saints in the area and throughout Southwest Washington. We are grateful for the ongoing support and collaboration from the city of Camas." A groundbreaking date will be announced later.
Exterior Rendering Released for the Vancouver Washington Temple
A rendering of the exterior of the Vancouver Washington Temple has been published. Plans for the temple were announced at the October 2023 general conference by President Russell M. Nelson. The 43,000-square-foot house of the Lord will be constructed on a 15.11-acre site at the northwest corner of Southeast 20th Street and Southeast Bybee Road in Camas. A groundbreaking date will be announced at a later date.
Site Location Announced for the Vancouver Washington Temple
The location of the Vancouver Washington Temple has been announced as a 15.11-acre site located northwest of the intersection of SE 20th Street and SE Bybee Road in the Vancouver suburb of Camas. Plans call for a multistory temple of approximately 43,000 square feet. There are four dedicated temples in Washington located in Seattle, Spokane, Richland (Tri-Cities), and Moses Lake. In addition to Vancouver, plans have been announced for a temple in Tacoma. A rendering and groundbreaking date will be released at a later date.
