An official rendering of the Iquitos Peru Temple has not yet been released to the public.
Temple Site
On January 29, 2024, the location of the Iquitos Peru Temple was announced as a 1.75-acre site located at Calle San Marcos 117–137 in the San Juan Bautista District of Iquitos where the Secoya Ward meetinghouse is located. Plans call for a temple of approximately 20,000 square feet.1
Temple Announcement
On April 2, 2023, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Iquitos Peru Temple at the April 2023 General Conference. It will be the seventh temple built in Peru. Iquitos is located in Northeast Peru along the Amazon River. It is one of the most populous cities in the country. Peru is home to 630,000 Latter-day Saints spread across nearly 780 congregations. The first Latter-day Saint missionaries arrived in the country in 1956. At the time of the announcement, the following temples were announced, under construction, or dedicated: the Arequipa Peru Temple, the Chiclayo Peru Temple, the Cusco Peru Temple, the Lima Peru Temple, the Lima Peru Los Olivos Temple, and the Trujillo Peru Temple.2
